Despite wanting to stay longer in Hallstatt, we boarded the bus to continue the tour on to Vienna.

We stopped at Melk Abbey for a walking tour on our way to the Danube.
This is a large abbey, school, and library. While walking the grounds on our tour, students from the school waved from their classroom widows!

On to the Danube!
We took a lovely cruise down the Danube. There was a relaxing view of the little towns and former castles of Robber Barons along the side of the river. Very scenic, and a nice change of pace from all the walking.
After the cruise we traveled to our hotel, the NH Wien CITY. The room was nice.

I will note as a person who professionally deals with technology, their hotel wifi had issues. We required someone at the front desk to manually enter a bypass for each of our devices to access their network.

Everyone on the tour was talking about it in the lobby when we gathered to go on our orientation walk with our local tour guide.

Not a deal breaker, and they had a solution, I just thought it should be noted!
We got a general walking tour of the area, and where the major points were for the city, then had the rest of the evening to ourselves. We spent our time wandering around the local shops, found a Starbucks and the all important Starbucks mug! (We collect them).
